I live off-grid in a self built tiny home with my partner and our dog, we’ve learned from trial and error to know what actually works in real world conditions. We want to share our experiences to ensure you start your journey off on the right foot.
No two people are the same, meaning everyone has different needs, this leads to slight changes to common systems and a baseline understanding of how these systems work. If you intend to own an off-grid system you end up being the person to maintain that system or pay someone locally in hopes that they know what the heck there looking at. Knowing that you ran out of power because you used the iron, air conditioner, heater or some other large load when the sun hasn’t been shining is the reason you have no power. Being able to get the power back on independently and keep it on is the goal. Running out of power living off grid is the same as running out of gas in your car, a learning experience ;)

Support via phone to remotely solve a problem or talk you though a DIY install, save yourself hours of frustration.
Whether you already own all the components or you’re looking to design a new system from scratch, we will confirm compatibility of all components and provide a single line diagram outlining wire gauge and connection method of all components in a system. Additional costs may be required incurred depending on complexity of system and documentation provided for pre-existing system updates or pre purchased components. A 30 minute phone consult is the best place to determine your needs. Digital single line diagrams (SLD) will be provided, physical SLDs and system labels can be provided for additional cost.
Starting price for support on site with system installation or problem solving. We can provide one on one support, a full crew to install your system or guidance to a crew you provide. Travel cost and multi day visits will vary in price depending on location.

How We Got Here
Growing up my brother and I were always interested in building and fixing whatever peaked our interests. My passion for bicycles lead me to a career as a bicycle mechanic for over a decade. I started my career in my home province of Saskatchewan, after a few years I was recruited to Ontario as I continued to hone my craft and creating a deep respect and understanding of components and there place in the system of circles turning circles that make up a bicycle.
I eventually stumbled upon the idea of building a tiny home, heck that would be something I could call my own and build myself I thought. Little did I know, that decision would lead me into several years of learning many new skills and building a custom home. After two years of dedication to this project I realized that the amazing location I found for my tiny project was only possible if I was fully off-grid. Further down the rabbit hole I went, leading me to a whole new career in solar and energy storage system design and installs.
